About

I am a grad student working on a PhD. I study various things having to do with language and literature. This blog may include some translations or observations about languages I’m working on. I used to be a cook and food is fairly important to me, so I may also post about things I eat.

I’m also interested in (intersectional) feminism, anti-racism, lgbt rights, body positivity, anti-ableism, and so on. I may write about my experiences with these in my current life in academia, my past experiences, or in the media. I am gay/queer, female (faab)/genderqueer, and white.

The title of this blog, loichen, is the genitive singular of Old Irish lachu, ‘a duck’.
Why a duck? Indeed.
